About the artist
Calahan Woodwolf was born in Mexico in the 90’s. He grew up avoiding mundane school tasks in favour of grand art endeavours far too ambitious for a kid with a pencil. His creative passion took him to three post secondary institutions where he was immersed in life art drawing, fine art studies, and the world of digital art creation.
A self-proclaimed maker, his work is everything to him. The process of taking an idea and seeing it come to life on a canvas is like none other. This is enhanced by the joy of his clients when they see their ideas brought to life on their skin.
Tattoo became a staple in his work in 2018 when he found himself faced with the most rewarding and challenging medium yet. Now with over 5 years in his hands, Calahan has become known for his beautiful portraiture, realism, magic, and nature inspired pieces. Along with accolades for his skillful tattoos, his demeanour has become a shining factor for many, who often speak of his kindness, professionalism, and the safe space he provides.
Found on walls across the Kootenays, Calahan’s fine art has been featured in galleries and local businesses for over 10 years. Specializing in graphite and oil, he is enamoured with the human form and its intersection with nature and magic. His love of fine art has grown over the years, becoming an outlet for both his creativity and exploration of the world around him.
Calahan is happily married to a writer in Vancouver and spends his free time cuddling his pup Lucifer and discovering tasty wines.
